It's interesting for sure. Resembles the Overhoff skull very closely. Would be great to hear the background on this piece. What information do you have on it, JR?

              Thanks for showing!

Yes it is indeed. Probably hung on a wall with an eagle above in a cantine or monument or so. The resemblence of the Overhoff design is very clear also indeed. Or even S.P. 40...

Or, it could have belonged to Hermann Göring before he decided to go Luftwaffe.

In hand, the carving gives the visual appearance that is has not been done in modern times. The paint is well worn, particularly around the edges. The smell to the wood and painted is neutral, and void of any odors. There is a small triangle hook with 2 brads which hold it in place. There is also some faded writing on the reverse of the chin area. The dimensions are 12x12 inches.

There were several gasps from passengers in line when a TSA officer removed this from my backpack, and held it up when I went through security. They thought I was smuggling a turtle on board the plane. I make no claims other than I like it, and a host of other collectors did too when they examined it in hand.

It definately looks like it has some age to it. Someone spent a fair amount of time carving that.
