It appears to be silver (in color) and affixed to an NCO board.
It is clearly not the stubbier NCO (and very rare) version, but why officer?

I like the closed hole on the lower left of the H but many fakes have this too. While I'm not convinced that originals could not have been cleaned up with a small drill prior to leaving the factory, I don't see any perfectly round holes like on some fakes.

Shots of the back could help, but I wouldn't advise removing them unless the boards are clearly fakes. More photos?

Definitely one drill hole. I don't think it is safe....then again, depending on who is asking, maybe. Normally, no though.
