Normally WH Coats have their factory numbers on the side, like WH tunics.
SS have stamping on the back. The stamping itself is also in different style.
This is the one very difference between SS and WH Coats.

I dont see stamping on this one. And the eagle does not look originally aplied.

My personal opinion - assembled coat, higly overpriced.

                    Dear Petra.
Stamping is there. It is faded but clearly visible on the photo (post #3). Below the measures is number 42.
Notable difference is also the cut on the front panels that goes to the corner of the pocket flap. Eagle is stitched when the coat was assembled. Peculiar way but original. I did found 2 SS coats with no eagle ranging from 1200-1700.- on the sites. These were dealer prices but is a 1200.- high price for a untouched original in such condition? I have not seen one for a while.
Here's few better close ups. The sleeve lining has not been opened. To me it comes from a reliable source anyway.
All the buttons (Except the board ones. They have been replaced at some time) are hand applied and have a knot. Buttons are marked RSS. Quite many smaller bits in the construction are hand stitched. To me it looks like KZ work, not contract maker.

                    Regards
                    K.

It may be a recycled Wehrmacht coat.
Repaired, through Dachau, by a contractor.
then reissued to the Waffen SS.
The eagle doesn't look like it was applied at the
above, more than likely if it is of the time done
                      in the field.

                        Dear Istra.

It is an SS cut and stamped coat. The only repair is a field made stitching on a 90 degree rip in the end of the right skirt (pictured as well). The hand stitched pieces under the collar, under the pocket flap, under the skirt are made during the sewing of the coat.
Stitches on the eagle do not go through the lining and the ends of the lining have not been opened.

                        Regards
                        K.
