    SS Sleave Eagle For Review

    Hello,

I have this SS Sleeve Eagle that someone told me might be Belgian/French Issue if good?

In worn condition with no UV issues. The Bevo type machining is very good, but what do I know?

Any help would be very appreciated?

    Many thanks.

    Hi MG

The SS arm eagle is an original French made version which was used by the Gemrans toward the later stages of the war...is in overall good condition and has alot of detail...nice find

Did I miss something identifying this type of eagle? These have always been identified as copies previously from what I have seen?

As the others have already mentioned, it's a copy. Also the "French Made" story.......LOL.

While I don't pretend to know much compared to some , I have noticed in this hobby that whenever something doesn't seem quite right it is often referred to as a French or Belgian version.

                            Yes I have noticed that too . . .
Its beginning to be the normal war cry
and TBH I too an getting a bit fed up with it
No disrespect to you as your a good judge and have a descent reputation of this stuff
but a few the new comers are normally the ones who yell "Dutch / Belgian"
                            Regards David

About this Eagle, I'm glad I was advised by a respected collector who said via email "I believe that this might be a French/Belgian issue, but this needs to be verified". That is why I posted it here in the first place, to get it verified either way, good or bad.

What annoys me on this site is the telling off you get if something is wrong, like you've actually done something wrong or broken some sort of law. The amount of rubbish type talking down to I've got in the past. Very petty.

All I can deduce from it is that some people have been severely ripped off buying something at some point. Their anger & frustration comes out, in waves, when they see something someone posts up that is wrong. Like a slap round the face.

Are we in a school playground or what, because that's what it feels like at times?

When I have posted pieces that are 100% genuine, everyone is your best friend & giving you a verbal slap on the back.

No one is a true expert as even the most respected of collectors & dealers get it wrong at times.

I don't know a single high end dealer who sells 100% genuine TR pieces. They all throw in a few high quality fakes at some point in time, no matter how big they are. I take it we all know this, about these specialist TR dealers?

Anyone here have similar experiences? Like a two faced state of play from others?

Just the thoughts of an Englishman, who sees much strange behavior from others here.
