It is certainly an interesting tunic, I personally feel the Eagle is a post war copy from Sieder in Wien. Who is the tunic named to and are there any wartime photos of the officer in uniform? Also was this officer a member of the "Oberbayern Standarte" before the war, that the cufftitle is associated with?

            David,

From all the great items I have seen you post, I was expecting you to say it had been added to your collection.

                  TK Tunic

With seven years hinsight, I have when I saw this tunic again mailed David and let him know that I don´t belive the collartabs nor the arm eagle to be originals. They have for sure been replaced after the war, as we today know they are reproductions. I have offered David to return the tunic.

It's of course unfortunate the insignia are reproductions, but I believe it's admirable of PvL to step forward - I don't think many others would have done the same.......
Looking for any original items related to Danish W-SS volunteers

                      Addressing problems...

I am not jumping on a bandwagon here, but I would have to agree with prorege1, as Peter generally addresses problems immediately, unlike some other European Dealers (I have been waiting 3 weeks for even a reply from Helmet Weitz ). Peter is good to work with and as far as Dealers even showing their "face" on these forums, gotta give him some cudo's for contributing and public addressing issues.

                      Craig

PS: Peter, I am looking forward to getting our trade finalized and resolved, here in the next couple days.

                        Good deal Peter.

One thing, this dealer has always been willing to jump into the trenches with us and post his thoughts. Not many do that. He gets alot of very real items and we all know if we were paying attention that at the time many faked tunics were circulating the market and many new dealers were convinced they were real as were many collectors who ARGUED with me till they were blue and got me into heated discussions with moderators .Peter had some real nice ones since that.Everyone makes mistakes but being willing to right them is what counts.

prorege 1, "many others" wouldn't need to do so ( and that often?)

I also commend Peter vL for his forthright honesty. In my opinion his heart is in the right place and is genuinely dedicated to selling only original items to his customers.

Who here has never been fooled? None of us.

                              Fakes

Everey dealer have sold items later proved to be reproductons, many dealers have outright fakes on there websites as we speak.

Most collectors have sold items which later have proved to be fakes.

Some of the people screaming most here on the forum have sold fakes outright without any hesitation knowingly they where bad. You may soon read about it in coming threads.

I could make a list so long with bad items sold from this and that dealer and so and so..........but that have no real meaning, it is how you handle the misstakes you make. I will continue doing them, as all other dealers will............there are no dealer never making faults and all dealers have speciality areas..........books produced much later then this one have items proved to be repros. Knowledge goes forward du to these forums and the people who are willing to share knowledge.........

Unfortunatly these forums have few who wants to share, and more of the type who post to get there numbers upp..........they contribute with ZAV.

I am just trying to handle my misstakes in a fair manor.
