True. It is, in my opinion, also for a large part the frenzy of last minute bidding that drives prices up. Some pieces went for prices that would never have been paid for when they were asked at a dealers website. Rare high quality stuff always finds a buyer but that says little about the remaining 95% of the items we collect.

I liked those as well, but yes, too expensive. But they are rare...

What did people think about the, dot wrap + dot panzer pants?

Also the smooth dot set, mainly the pants on the second day.
I some how lost the bid in the last 3 seconds. Crazy 50e

While we are commenting on prices-- I was very surprised at the end price (over $1700 U.S. with buyer's premium) of the Planetree No. 1 Zeltbahn! Granted, it was in fantastic condition with stunning colors, but sold at price from years ago! I was sad, as I intended on adding it to my collection. Truth be told I am an SS ZELTBAHN JUNKIE from way back, including SS camo. It was those damn Zelts that got me hooked

Yeah i had my eye on this but one i seen the prive rise so much i give it a miss.
Think the auction fever can take over and people get caught up in bidding wars.
I bought 2 items i was not planing on buying.

Only 1 every 5 years or so pop up.

Owen, If you're referring the the HBT smock, Ratisbon's is the 3rd one FS this year I've seen. Virtual Grenadier has one on their site and there was a very very nice one at Rock Island. There are a lot of old collections starting to break up , also some nice smocks coming out of seclusion out this way recently but the prices are overly optimistic so they are not moving.

I have been in the cammo game a long time.
                      Seen these for years.
Known about them since the 80s.
There are only a pair of hands count known.

                      Whats your point please.

Owen- what do you think was the reason for HBT use in making camo pieces? Was it economical? Quality/Longevity? I personally cotton duck much more than HBT.
                        Thanks in advance-

Collections getting busted up......so bound to happen.

15 years ago you would wait several years and not see one.
                              Same with an SOS.
Whole show you maybe see a few pullovers per year if you were lucky.
