    Early SS cotton armband?

I thought I would post this armband also. I've had it for a few years and it's of cotton construction. Is the consensus that these are early cotton armbands of the Brownshirt period?

It looks like a good one in terms of materials, and these cotton/linen types were worn during the brownshirt period. Based on the width of the band, I'd say this is an original SS type and not a standard armband with added stripes. Many of these era bands have the nice cloth tags with maker and such, but this one apparently does not.

Most of the woven swastika-type bands I've seen have been early (pre-1939), but I don't know if that feature alone allows us to date it more accurately.

          It's a very attractive armband!

          regards, Robert

Looks like a nice pre - RZM armband made specifically for the SS. It is not a standard party type that someone added black stripes to at sometime in the last 80 years or so.

Thanks, guys. After 1939, were all SS armbands made of wool? Are there RZM examples that were made of cotton?

Here's a typical tagging convention on the pre-war ones...
