    Winter oakleaf parka belt

    Hi,

I bought this salty parka (showed it here beginning of this year) some months ago and noticed the belt was put together. So now I wanted to see if I could get it flat again and found out that it sticks together because of the white paint that was added to the parka back then. It looks really nice white and still keeps the cloth together on one side.

On the other side you see that this has been like that since it was worn. 1/3 looks dirty and 2/3 looks white.

Should I take the belt out and make it flat again? Or keep it like that (since it has always been like this)?
And is it hard to put the belt back in? I can imagine it is somewhat the same as putting a jogging pants belt back in only this operation needs to be taken more carefully.

Why don't you pay the forum fees and support the forum.
This is a waste of time not only for you but for everyone else
$35 lets you post as many photos as you like

        Hi,

Very strange, yesterday they were still here. Must be something wrong with photobucket. Will try uploading via other medium.

I appreciate your concern but for now I will try it like this why pay for something if you can do it for free.

            This should be better:

white paint in between still making it stick together

            As it should be:

...because it is the minimum what you should do...you have questions/you would like to hear the more experienced collectors
without this forum it would be really hard to get these answers/avoid fakes without a great loss of money...and honesty 30-40 Dollars are nothing for a year membership...just my two cents

So basically what you are saying is no one who pays here for the forum should be helped? I have respect for all of you and your knowledge and that is the reason why this forum is here, to share knowledge. Not to discuss whether someone wants to pay or not.

Why make a problem of someone who does not like to pay for a free forum? I am sure I am not the only one who does not like to pay for something you can get for free..

If the forum is only available by payment I will surely think about subscribing but for now as said before I will keep it like that. Sorry guys..

Nothing is for free. Knowledge costs ( mean mostly it costs time , but also it coss money if you buy books or if you buy faked items and learn by mistakes ).

Nobody force to paye your membership fees; it is free will ( the same with knowledge of member who could or will share their knowledge or they won't ).

If you need to use free of charge photo host sites ( usualy they are free to certain point ), than use it, but photos, which you will upload and attach this way, will disapear with time and whole post will be useless ( that's why membership cost - to use own server with ability to save the photos and info - and you have posibility to use estand as a bonus).

Reagrding the jacket ; all looks fine. I would leave it as it is.
