After the success of volume I (sold out) and volume II (few last copies still available) volume III of “Die SS-Totenkopfverbände 1933 – 1939” is ready for shipment now.
This volume describes the turbulent events during the year 1939.
The formation of the SS-Heimwehr Danzig and its actions during the battle in and around Danzig in September 1939 are documented in detail on the basis of only recently discovered and so far unpublished original battle-reports.
Furthermore, so far unknown details concerning the actions of the 2. SS-T-Standarte “Brandenburg” in Poland during September 1939 are revealed.
Proof is furnished that the Standarten “Oberbayern” and “Thüringen” never saw action in Poland. The, in the post-war literature widespread, assertion, these Standarten had committed atrocities and executed masskillings during September 1939 in Poland, is definitively refuted.
The formation of three new SS-T-Standarten (No. 5, No. 6 and No. 7) and the formation of a Berittene Abteilung of the SS-Totenkopfverbände in September 1939 is documented in detail, as well as the formation of the SS-Totenkopfdivision and a SS-T-Rekrutenstandarte in October 1939.
The, during the years 1934 – 1939, frequently changing uniforms and badges of the SS-TV, the frequently changing numbering and unit-descriptions of the SS-TV and the “Fahnen” and “Standarten” of the SS-TV are described and documented extensively in separate chapters.
With a study of the individual Theodor Eicke, statistics of the composition of the “Führerkorps” of the SS-TV, the philosophy of life of the SS-TV and a comparison of the financial budgets of the SS-TV during the years 1936 – 1939 volume III is completed.
This volume (german language) contains 270 pages and 140 photos.
Volume III will be shipped (by registered mail incl. track & trace) immediately after receipt of payment of
39,50 euro + 12,95 euro (shippingcosts inside Europe) = 52,45 euro or
39,50 euro + 16,95 euro (shippingscosts outside Europe) = 56,45 euro.
