How are you so sure that someone didn't fake and put those stamps recently, since they become so significant in discussions about pinkies' originality. Many stamps are faked and applied nowadays to make common items more desireable. Nothing new, could be the case here. That possibility was discussed in that thread already.

      Hi,

i will add that it seemed that Martin got a collection for sale, as he got many very nice camouflaged SS items.
It could be indeed interesting to have infos from this collector, to know from whom he bought the items with fake stamps.

Now we can have more infos on who is the bad guy that butchered original SS camo items.

      See You

The dealer that had this smart idea also stamped the original Palm Tree smock that was proposed by Bill Shea.

It is so easy to understand that... Mix real and fake stuff with similar fake stamps "et voilà" !

The stamps you are trying to legitimize has nothing to do with real Russian stamps, no matter the period, military or strip-tease use.

No proof that the pinkies are real, infact it just prove that someone was enough smart to butcher original items to legitimize the fantasy pinkies.

However we have tonns of infos that tend to prove that the pinkies are an elaborate swindle that included original items.

The topic can now be closed again. Nothing new at all.

Sorry I don't buy the odd argument someone is now running around now stamping original SS clothing with the markings to legitimize the pink/birch smocks. What on earth would be the point of that? The answer is nothing. Come on guys , really?

Besides the oakleaf smock I bought from the ex Tony Gordon thru Bruce Herman nearly 15 years ago had these markings. I didn't think anything about them until these threads.

If you "we" have tons of info that the "pinkies" were an elaborate swindle ,you have yet to present it . Let's see it please.

Please explain exactly how someone would benefit from adding fake stamps to original SS garments today. I can see the arguments the pinks are different from standard smocks but this is just totally off the wall.

How on earth would adding these film company markings to these trousers make them more desirable? Please explain.

              Hi,

you last reply clearly imply to all the readers of this topic that you really don't know nothing about fakes in general, which is really pathetic, and which explain the time we are losing on this ridiculous subject, thanks to you.

I suggest you to read a bit about "how to milk fakes with originals", there is a lot of videos and books on the subject, from archeology to modern painting, to live concert tickets, to casino chips.
If you are unable to understand the various methods used by fakers for centuries, it explain why you are trying to promote fakes.

You have originals (value 1000) and fakes (value 100).
The best way to legitimize fakes is to include something that will be found in originals and fakes.
Then your fakes will have their value changed from 100 to 1000.

              See You

if you add those fake stamps to perfect originals, it will imply to idiots that "all the stuff with those stamps are legit".
                CQFD.

I'm amazed by the hard work you are providing to avoid evidence...

I told that a million of time : fakers did the same with the Croix de Guerre Légionnaire starting from the late 90's : someone said "originals have always a medal maker mark" so all the fakers modified their fakes with real War Crosses with those markings.

So people started to buy fakes (originally sold and made as reproductions, worth 40 euros) that were modified with War Crosses with medal maker mark for 500 to 1000 euros !
                Bingo !

I didn't mean that putting these stamps would make these particular pants more desireable. I meant general procedure like for example putting SS stamps on regular items to increase value. Simply the fact of recent stamp application on period items for any reason as an illustration that is being done and could be the case here.

Reason: fabrication of evidence that may convince more people that pinkies are real, so they will start selling for higher prices.

These particular pants look field worn and repaired, pretty much beaten up. I find it hard to believe that they were in a movie studio inventory during 40's when plenty of mint, unissued stuff was available.

So who would benefit from this? Floch sold all of his smocks 38 years ago and they are scattered worldwide. So a person with one or two of these smocks to increase the value of his over the last 20 years has been stamping original items as part of a long term master plan to legitimize his smock? Gimme a break.

Unless someone was sitting on hundreds of pink/birch smocks and following these threads it there would be no reason to do this. They could have been used for film work or even worn by workmen at the studio between 1947 and 1980.

There is reason for everything. We can't see and often understand what's in peoples' minds and what their intentions are and reasons for their actions.

Maybe they were used in a Soviet movie studio by a worker or maybe some dealer has or had in the past number of pinkies and fabricated evidence to sell them for more. It is all "maybe" and nothing more, which proves nothing. Only a probability that they could (or could not) be used in Russia in 40's doesn't proof that the stamps are 100% applied in 1947. Something that is not certain can't be used as a proof.

Anyway I think it is up to what you want to believe. It is our choice and other collectors' choice.

I don't see what that has to do with the discussion here. There is plenty of unsold SS cloth available (BTW I picked up some nice pieces recently) on dealer sites.

If there was an original SS pullover for the same price it would be gone

                                Pretty simple to understand
