    OBERSCHARFÜHRER COLLAR TABS value

Thinking of bidding on these at an auction and wondering what folks thought would be the ceiling in terms of value. The opening bid is $1700.00

Nice tabs, but you'll never know if the piping was done in WwIi. It depends on how much you want to spend....

You are just about paying double for the red piping.

Wow those runes are cozy. They are damn near touching.

So the red piping makes these overly rare I assume? This is only the second red pipes I have seen... the first were really faded.

Here's another pair I found. Piping faded and a completely different application of.

The tab colors in original auction photos are too saturated, as the "blacks" are just way too deep. So I took the same pics and lightened them to being on the texture of the tabs material and perhaps a better representation of the actual article.

They crop up fairly regularly in various piping colours.
As had been said without rock solid provenance it's very difficult to say if the piping had been added post war to increase the value.

                      I totally agree . . .
But having said that I like the pink pair
