No red flags for me. Looks like a very nice original cap.

I have never seen a cap marked REITZ...
To begin with, did this factory produced cap ? I don't think ..

This cap is imo not original. This Kind of lettering seen on the size stamp appeared in many high Quality fake caps during the last years.

One of this fake caps was a M-43 SS cap with a green BEVO trap in late war wool - at the first glance even one of the best Dealers out there was fooled by this cap...

            Remember this old Topic....

Reitz produced mostly cloth items: uniforms and uniform parts.
But no caps to my knowledge.
But if you want to have the opinion of an expert feel free to contact Werner P.
Well respected Ass. member who knows what he's talking about when it concerns the Reitz.

By that do you mean picture # 8 how the top panel is round instead of the classic tear drop shape?
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

For a very late war cap, "Almond shape" is not always the norm,
Dachau production cap is the best example..
But Reitz marking for a cap is IMO the kiss of death..

As always is an opinion based on observations... Almond shape is one. When I see this + threads + sewing + sweatband + patina, based on pics, my opinion became not positive for a +b+c+d.

                          Belgian made M43 caps

I can confirm that there were Belgian made M43 caps with the typical Belgian Made ingsinia.

And I can confirm that the E.Reitz Uniformwerke NEVER produced field caps in mass production.

I know of one tailor made example which was custom made for one Westland member during his holidays in Antwerp. But that cap doesn't come close to the examples shown in this thread.

                          Werner
Interested in all E. Reitz Uniformwerke items.
