    These guys know way more than me, but I can tell you that I've seen that exact type of buckrum (backing material) on early SA tabs. People are known to cannibalize much cheaper SA rank tabs to lend authenticity to fake SS tabs, so that's always something else to consider.
    The SS and SA tended to use different materials for backing, but sometimes they DID use the same buckrum. However, I've NEVER seen the white "waffle" type SS backing used on SA tabs.
    There are ways to help collectors without giving out really detailed info to the fakers.

      Not sure if it matters that much but the tab is also pretty flexible.

        My 'take' on your comment regarding flexibility is that might be construed as a positive towards being period made. I might infer that it could be that the subject tabs may have had their buckram impregnated with natural plant base mucilage glue (standard period practice). This type of glue, unlike today's glues which harden, rehydrate easily and stay more flexible over time than contemporary glues.

        Just my opinion of course...
