    Italian camo parka anorak opinion

I know these aren't that rare but I like some opinions on this one as the condition is extremely good. Only marking is a 56 stamp on inner liner.

Thanks. I usually like items with a little 'been there', but there's something really cool about the rich vibrant Italian camo colors here.

Some guys on here would argue that the Been there were used Wartime.
When usually its post war farmer wear.
I like mine like this as is actually wartime colors.
Is the string in the jacket ?

Unfortunately no drawstring. I've had this for over 15 years sitting in storage. When I bought it there was serious doubts that these Italian camo anoraks were even WW2 but Czech postwar. I've seen a lot of latewar images now to prove otherwise. As far as wear goes, since they were 1945 items and most of these never made it to the front, the wear is more than likely postwar. I've seen a lot of pictures of Czech soldiers post-45 wearing these and they must have procured large unused stocks of these anoraks. I guess that's where the confusion of the origin came from. Nevertheless, I am still surprised at the very modest prices these bring, considering how cool and well made they are. Are there still doubts that some of these are German WW2?

                No doubt USED 100%.

Its simply just a Not cool SS cammo factor thing.
                However

The Italian cut of SS cloth uniforms are better respected than the winter parka.

You can use in the Winter as its way better than Canada Goose.

I guess that's my question. We know these were made during the war. But is there any evidence that the Czechs continued producing these, with no changes made, after the end of the war? I'm sure there were many thousands of these stuck unissued because of the poor supply situation at the end. There are many instances of large stocks of unused items at the end because of this. Why would they continue producing these? How would they know they would even need them at that time? I know we see postwar pics of the Czechs using them but is that enough to say they continued producing them?

Nice original anorak, these are the best value SS camo out there IMO and the value is low because of the lack of cool period combat pics depicting them in use like smocks and covers ect.
They are superbly made and would have taken much more time and resources to make than a smock or the like.
In my opinion the Czech military used up existing stocks of original war time 3R produced stocks and never remade these themselves.
Why would they reproduce such a garment in exactly the same way, cut, color and details as the wartime 3R pattern?
It's always good to see these come up in discussions and as Owen says they are WARM
                          Regards,
                          Bill

Thank you all for the helpful info. One thing I noticed about this anorak is hue of the colors which kinda surprised me when I looked closely at it. The coat is in very good condition but there are areas of slight fading. The bulk of the camo is very much the 3 tones I come to expect. But the area on hood has almost zero fading and the light green color is a more of a yellow and not the yellow green. It seems the that yellow loses its pigment very quickly compared to the other 2 tones and instead of becoming lighter it shifts to more green. The other 2 colors are same hue just slightly lighter.
I think the bulk of Italian camo garments have at least some fading overall and the light yellow green has become expected so this was an interesting discovery...at least to me.

I love it! Congrats. A really nice example of one of the few ss uniform items that are great value for money
