How could asserting supporting facts as to why this tab is a fake, could help the fakers?

All they need is to obtain an original, and work on that.

How could words substitute for an original reference exemplar?
Just imagine if you are the faker that made this tab, and you thought it was perfect! Now you want to know exactly what's wrong so you can correct it...Can you see what's wrong with it? Even comparing it to an original tab? This information must be carefully guarded.

Well. I suppose this explains it all.

The experts have spacken, no further discourse from the great unwashed is needed guys.

Just accept that this is a fake on faith alone, and keep your mouths shut.

        Fake?

I agree..........how DARE you !!! You should KNOW there are only a handful of special people who are allowed to know the secret, and the rest you have to just suck it up. Besides....you really should know your place.........
HEY - I have an idea..........how about an explanation like......."It's the piping"...............or.........."skull is wrong shape"........or maybe........."bullion looks fake".......these kind of comments are not particularly helpful to the fakers, but I certainly understand if the grand masters of all that is SS would even find THAT to be too informative.......these secrets must be guarded at all cost!!
        Just like those jawless skulls............
        "Is this real or fake?"..............
        'It's a fake"......
        "Oh.....ok."
        Give me a freakin' break.

Shame on you, please know your place!

That's why it makes no common sense to collect SS cloth. I no longer do.

As per below I don't like it. Compare to various originals with provenance and as again below to other the same as this.
Sorry sir I'd return it if you can

Are we comparing apples to apples ?

OP on the left , pronounced authentic on the right

Was every collar tab exactly the same ?

I don't pretend to know much about these, just seeking to learn.

Come on now - what sane person would spend thousands of dollars for a collar tab even the "experts" are unsure of?

                        Here we go again...

                        Good become bad... here... again.
Just because it isn't as appealing as the other original that's shown here.
@ Coonan: they all were unique. They all have slight differences.
Some look like they like to call it 'textbook'. Some are made a bit less nice...
But still original. But not nice and 100% appealing just means 'fake' here!

WAF just isn't the right place to post these insignia. Most of the time they will be condemned and burned to become worthless.
                        It's like WAF-mafia...

The tab is perfect imo. Nice executed details and with clearly visible 'unterlagen'.
Off course this can be faked to but it's a well executed skull.

Just because the skull looks a bit different, doesn't mean it is fake.
It's just embroidered with hand and for that, has some differences.
                            As like they all have!!!!

With respect, maybe 'special people' who have devoted a lot of their time and resources to study these things ? There is also the follow-up ... 2,3,5,20 years in the future someone may well quote this thread and people who approve an item can retrospectively be hung out to dry based on a change in knowledge or as little as personal opinion ... that's why many of us don't comment anymore.

As I said before ... personally I liked it right down to the lower jaw and teeth which raised questions in my mind. I told the person who PM'd me that I felt it was good but there was something about it that gave me cause for concern ... the phrase 'Not a one-looker' was appropriate.

I can be no clearer or more honest than that .. can I ?

                              Regards, Ian.

                                Hi Fred,
Nice tab! Do you have a shot of the back?

                                Thanks

                                Hi Craig,
The tab you posted looks ugly to me but real. I do like to see these types "in hand" before passing a final judgement.

The teeth and over all well fed look of it just gives it a non standard look.

                                I hope this helped.
