    SS Ring

    Hi all,

An older collector I know picked this up and offered me it. Any thoughts on originality and perhaps a decent price? Unfortunately he's not 100% sure if real nor on a price, go figure. Normally avoid rings, but worst case an opportunity to learn. Marked Himmler and Heydrich in addition to date 2/16/39.

The fact it's engraved to reinhard heydrich should speak volumes

I had to call DB as I was unable to make an independent decision.
Just kidding that's what this forum is for I'm glad everyone was able to help.

In this case, an "older collector" doesn't equate to a knowledgeable collector!
          Offer him 5.00

Damn that was fast! Thanks a lot everyone, the poor quality of the skull made me have doubts. I usually stick with daggers and guns, but as always this forum and the people here are a huge help!!!

It's not a bad looking copy. I've seen that same ring before and I'm pretty sure I know who owned it. Pictures are bad but this ring looks much better in person having a separately applied skull with a perfect seam line. Ask the guy who offered it to you if he also has the RAD officer's ring which was owned by the same person who had this ring and was offered to me at the last Max show (the RAD ring is a rarely seen original, wish I took some pictures of it)
