At the bottom in the brass, a number and a swastika are stamped.

    diameter is about 36mm

many of the early fakes [early 90s] did have handles like this.. Most authentic were rubber anyway. Yes some metal but most rubber.
The copies eventually had waffenamt proofs and even the roll stops after being mentioned here that they should all have them!

I have some doubts here... Could you please show better pics of the stampside, especialy of the space around the eagle so we can see how it was made? And, what use would it be to emboss another swastica at the side of the stamp. Useally there's just a makersmark (mostly in logoform)

                Grss

The only metal stamp I have that I am completely satisfied with is this steel stamp for wax impression.

I have also a rectangular rubber stamp. Over the years I have acquired two styles of brass (?) round ink stamps. The light colored wood one on the right is similar to the one of this thread. The others appear cheaply made of poor quality handle wood stained. The handles screw into the metal head.

The one on the right has some small details that differ from the others and also has a three digit number, with eagle/swaz stamped into the rim.

For what reason I know not. I am not really comfortable with it. I know of no regulations regarding manufacture. One would think that the various organizations would have used rubber stamps as they would have been cheaper. But fake rubber stamps have been out for forty years. And examining some various SA and SS circulars, it is amazing the number of stamps reported lost by various units. If they had to be replaced in metal it must have cost something.

Here is an example of the face of one of the black handle ones.

I thought the black ones are known repros from Poland??
I've seen and owned a few stamps over the years, some from Heerdivisions, one from the Höhere polizeifűhrer fűr die besetzten Niederlandische Gebiete (Seys Inquart) and I still own one and that is from the 6th Comp Panzerreg 1 LssAH. All were 100% authentic, but different from the ones in this thread. As I allready mentioned: none of those I had, were marked with a swastica or number. Just a makerslogo from Berlin.
I'm not saying that all the ones in this thread are fake or repros, but I would not buy them unless verry cheap.

Joe, like your steel one too!
The 2 to the left of it are the counterfeits from Poland. You'll find them there at almost any bazaar and sometimes gift shop.

look at how nice Joe's stamps face is,,nice, crisp, clear.

And a SS sonderkommando stamp!! Why would there be a stamp for them? What document would be stamped with it and for what reason? Leave them be,,let someone else waste their money on them...
