Here is the later painted variation. The back side is the same as the other one, but without the third prong and crimp behind the swastika.

Wonderful stuff , thanks to both for sharing. I'm going to study these pictures a bit and compare to the war booty bird and see if I can come up with some additional questions.

Now, back to the Deschlers. Here are a couple of CupAl examples. Notice the circled split between the highlighted feather on the chest. This is what is found on all CupAl Deschler eagles and also all of the aluminum Deschlers, except for the ones with the round sockets with soldered in prongs like the one on Germanwarbooty, (as well as my own, which I will post soon).
At least, this is what I have observed throughout my collecting experience.

Now, here is John's aluminum example. Notice the feather does not have the split in it and is just like most of the other SS eagle variations. Again, this is found on the one aluminum variation that has the soldered prongs and also as was mentioned earlier, the curved beak on the eagle.
The second picture shows this curved beak and is my example that is the same as John's on Germanwarbooty.
In other words, if an aluminum Deschler has the round cone crimps or the square box crimps, then it will most likely have the split feather and the same beak as the CupAl eagles.

Here is the back side of my eagle to show the soldered prongs that go with this style front.

Lastly, here is the rarest of the aluminum Deschler eagle variations, (Hopefully Peter will not mind me reposting these pictures).
As you can see, it has the box crimps and from the front, you can see the typical Deschler split in the feather as mentioned above.

Hope this helps to clear up the Deschler aluminum eagles and give you some things to study in the meantime.

I really appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge. I am going to have to chew on these photos a bit to absorb it fully.
