The Totenkopf and Rune Tabs flooded the market in the mid eighties . . . .
As already stated " not in a million years "

The metal skull is terrible but can someone throw me a bone on the collar tabs.....

what is the single most obvious thing that makes them fake ? The buckhram ? The teeth on the Totenkopf tab don't seem believable.

                    Its knowing the history . . . .
The buckram is a dead give away and so is the piping
Therefore with these two characteristics the bullion work is what one should expect

                      Fake Insignia Help

At the beginning of this forum, there is a "Links To Items of Interest" feature. Open this link and among the options you will find is Fake Uniform Insignia. This is an invaluable tool.

Also, in the Search function; enter Fake Runic Tabs or Fake TK Tabs. After careful study of these items, you should be able to immediately recognize fake from original items. However, as member Regen recently displayed for us, the fakes are really getting better and better.

The key to ascertaining real insignia from reproduction is study and more study.

Thanks for the advice. I am starting real and fake collar tab folders to start filing the pictures for study. I realize there are no short cuts in this hobby
