Do you have any pictures of the back and the rest of the ring? Definitely at least a 2 piece constructed ring, but would need to see more pictures, hallmarks, etc.

Unless someone else has a definitive period one or a
Picture, or a jewelers advertisement, (I have never seen a ring like this)... I really would ask the owner for more
        Pictures.

Looks like a period ring to me but I too have never seen one like this before. Would definitely need to see some additional pictures of the back and any hallmarks. A very nice ring non-the less.

I doubt they made black sun rings back then, even the name is a more modern description. Not many people knew what the floor at Wewelsburg looked like back then. this ring looks more Greek to me than German.

                I agree with Don -

You have to understand that the inner-sanctum (North Tower) of Wewelsburg was something kept relatively secret. It is my understanding in 1939, Himmler forbade publishing anything about the castle. Look at the trouble Sturmbannführer Heinz Macher went in an attempt to destroy the castle before the war ended...

                  Reichskanzler,

I knew the "classic" sun wheel / black sun ring. There was a thread about a ring as yours :

                  http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...black+sun+ring

This one is different, obviously period but I 'ld like to be certain that it's a german ww2 ring ...

Thanks to all for your help.

For me this isn`t a German design...

The particularity of this sunwheel is its six branch, turning from the right to the left.

It seems more slavian than greek ( greek have 8 arms at lesat and are turning from the left to the right )

It is like number 9, without the meaning unfortunatelly.

The design on the shanks are Greek borders to me. Definitely NOT ss.

From what I heard ( from an interview with an old SS-officer on television) there was no such thing like a "black sun" They used this design in the Wewelsburg but rather because they found it nice looking at that time. It had no special meaning.

My first guess honestly was going to be mesoamerican/modern design like a Mayan black sun or an Aztec design. Just my 2p.
