Pascal- The piece is original. The areas you have circled in Red are reinforcing/stabilizing stitches, and are a normal part of the manufacturing process. Without those "black wires", the knot would be more likely to completely unravel (although it is also glued down in manufacturing as well). Nice piece

I'm not to sure about this knot. The runes are very sloppy and my rule has always been if they are touching the circle they are no good.

I agree. Not one I would want in my collection.

Agree with Serge; I do not like the example on Oakleaf's site. Here is one I have on an SS-EM degen - this pattern is also seen on SS bayo's.
