I recently got this SS Greatcoat. Any opinions ?
Doe`s the eagle look originaly applied ?
How much might it be worth ?

It is an original coat. The boards are fake. The eagle has been reapplied. Can even see the gray original? threads below this bird.

Do you think it`s post war or period re applied ?
I found this picture on the interned, where they used the same white thread.

I agree the eagle is to re-sew

The eagle on this coat is reapplied by hand, remnants of the period machine sewing are still present.

The eagle on the shown cut off however is indeed wartime machine applied using typical T-stitch method.
The black sewing thread is only faded due to wear.

I believe sleeves has been altered, fold-up cuffs are missing.

Former tunic removed Bevo eagle used for restoration purpose on this coat.
This is just obvious. Frayed/damaged edges, sloppy sewing job.
Oh and don't forget the fake boards, this coat has been messed with.
