Many years ago I bought a jacket with the same sort of SS tab. It got and I got my money back!

Thanks to your help and feedback Felix

But it was fun while it lasted! I have retained the rest, y-strap sold on e-stand as it turned out to be early DDR.

Hello, I'm new to the forum here as well as collecting 3rd reich militaria, and I'm trying to learn how to differentiate the fake from the real. Could please ask what you see that leads you to believe this is a fake?
                    Thanks for your time!

PS. Probably be seeing me ask this a lot on these forums for awhile at least.

Hello sjbe4d and welcome to the club I am not deep into these details but many waf-members have studied details on originals vs. reproductions. They can spot it easily when something is wrong or debatable and since this hobby is full of repro-minefields it is easy wasting £$€ on something made post-May 45. Like the tunic I have posted: Felix’s help saved me thousands of Euros. I would never get this money back unless sold to an unknowing collector.
