Hi Will, as the eagle is bad it doesn't bode well for these tabs. Do-doubt an expert will comment though.

Collar Tabs
I'll go out on a limb, and say that the collar tabs may possibly be good, but they probably have nothing to do with the SS. The actual proportion % of width to length of the pictured tabs fit in between an SS tab and an SA tab.
Measure the length and width....should be roughly 58mm X 40 mm for SA.
SS tabs are also 40 mm wide, but shorter than SA.
Gruppen & Ob. Gr. Staff wore red collar tabs, and I've seen ones that were blank.
Sturmfuhrer on up had red/silver piping on tab.
Note: The red/silver piping was early 1933-early 1934 era....so I don't know if SA-Staff wore blank red tabs later than that or not.
Enlisted had NO tab piping, but had red/white piping on collar.
I've seen similar backing on other SA tabs.
The purpose of a blank "SA-Staff" collar tab? Don't know.
SA-Staff info. is hard to find.

This is a Staff Sturmfuhrer tab from '33 - early '34 era...
The UNIT tab looked exactly like this - same piping - but BLANK !!
Staff enlisted wore no tab piping.....could be that.
Most backing material I can tell immediately, but not positive on these - I still think they may be good.
Anyone else?Comment
