SS Trap Insignia Question

Were these ever really put on overseas caps? I've only seen them unissued for the most part. Most caps have separate pieces of insignia.

They were never intended to be worn on sidecaps ... they were made for the Einheitsfeldmutze 'M43' cap.

We can never say 'Never' though.

Were they worn on m43s often? I haven't seen them on those either. Some people call them SS panzer traps. Were they only for panzer SS troops?

The black traps were intended for panzer caps, but were used on field grey caps as well (due to shortages).
