I believed the Adler to be suspect.

The SS of course did not participate in the DAK campaign but was present in some SD posts, like the SicherheitsDienstStelle in Tunis.
It is an original is pattern Sahariana style tropical tunic as worn in Greece, Southern Ukraine and other Sud front locations, like the Balkans.
(Polizei Division, Handschar, Pr.Eugen). Nice pick up!

I know that no one likes this pattern eagle, but I have seen more than one SS tropical tunic with this pattern eagle that appears properly factory applied. No doubt fakes exist, but is there any possibility that there is an original eagle in this pattern?

Kind of begs the question ... Why strip the rest and leave the sleeve eagle IF it's original ?

I had years ago a jacket coming from an Ucraine theather that was stripped but eagle was still machine sewn, 100% factory applied.
