I like the first tab. I have a pair of them in my collection which came from a Dutch volunteer (coincidence in relation to the first tab?) who received them straight from the Bekleidungskammer after successfully leaving the SS-Unterführerschule Radolfzell. I noticed two things that are important studying thesse examples: 1. All 3 (including mine) have a different stitching pattern. 2. In all 3 the exact same cloth is just for the piping.
The stitchting on my pair is - by the way 'sloppy' as well.
The veteran I got them from still had a vivid and certain recollection of when and where they were issued to them. Therefor I do not go along with the Frontanfertigung/Field modification.
I am not able to post pictures here. I will post them in the FB thread, where it all began.
Cheers, Yvo.
