      These traps were discussed on this thread. Post number 72 show a picture dating from the 1960's of Andrew Mollo's single button field grey M43 with embroidered trap like the one that started this thread;

      http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...broidered+trap

      Other examples of this type of embroidered trap were also discussed,

      Chris

      p.s. also look at the single button caps shown in post numbers 63 to 69

        The trap is real, the rest is not IMO.

          Yes I have no problem with the trap being good.

          The cap can come down to whether you are a "Hatfield" or a "McCoy"

              Cap & trap are good. I fondled this one some years
              ago at Ted's and it's not a humper.

                There's nothing wrong with the cap, but I know there are strongly held opinions on this type M43. I am happy to accept that some don't believe they are original, and others don't.

                Merry Christmas, everyone, and health and peace to you all!

                regards, Robert

                    With all due respect sir, that's a pretty lame comment. It lets the user off the hook for anything decisive whatsoever. In other words, if I had no clue, I would say that. I'm glad you posted again. Happy Christmas mate.

                          really ?

                          as the Panzer m.43 cap with cardboard underside visor is so easy to get ( Dachau version ) why would anyone bother with its controversial cousin ? I cannot figure this one out ????

                              You needed to read more threads on WAF

                              "I could entertain doubts" is famous in the world of WAF and now understood by many

                                So your saying this is a convenient "Escape Clause" that is used on the WAF when a person is clueless, but feels compelled to comment? Like saying: "It's not like the one I think I remember seeing 5 years ago." I get that! OK no problem!
