Kind of hard to tell on this one from the pics... I see the TK tab has more wear around the edges, from bugs maybe vs. the same areas of the tunic. Are there any film studio stampings inside this tunic? Does the thread for the tresse match the thread used on the tabs (if -> sewn at same time) ?

Also, did you ask the seller his opinion? He is a good guy and will more than likely steer you in the right direction.

As I am sure you know, alot of these tunic are post war reassembled and it can be very hard to tell if the tailor did a good job removing signs of previous insignia.

Moth damage can be very selective , sometimes they will chew the heck out of one piece of cloth and another sewn next to it will be untouched.

for me all looks originally applied. I checked the tresse sewing with the tabs one ´- completly indentical.
I think this jacket is very nice and rare find.
About the moth damage - not first time to see moths actually take one spot and dig on it only, leaving other areas untouched.

We all have seen all kind of tunics having one big damaged area, but all arround it is very good perserved.

i think this is the case here

Wow. And people ask me why I don't post my SS collar tabs here.

The tress is post-war (prolonged diamonds)

Disco, I noticed that the tresse was more elongated too. But was not 100% sure its the DDR tresse, I am pretty sure there was elongated tresse during the TR period too.

Here is some DDR tresse for reference.
