Anyone know what this collar tab is for?

I got this tab and another like it (not exactly the same, but close) and I have no clue what it is for. Came from Germany, from a collector who had a wide variety of Third Reich era shoulder boards and collar tabs. I am guessing at SS or SS related because I can find nothing in my reference material, and I don't collect in that field.

Any info you can supply would be useful.

It has been on a display board for a long time, and the pink piping has faded a lot, on the exposed side.
