I was taught this years back by Historian and librarian archivists, but I guess I missed the cut off for this combustible problem by a decade or two.
          Alarmist nonsense!

Back with some more photos. I have not had any luck with contacting a film studio. I would rather have one locally to visit vs sending these films through mail.

I will post for sale on e-stand.
People have been transferring movies to CD's now for several years. They usually advertise buy say they will transfer old movies on film to CD's. Unless you just don't want to be bothered, sell them on estand and let someone else do it.

Yep, I had my old super 8 films from my teenager days back in the 1970s transferred to CD a few years back, and as JohnnyA stated there are companies that are doing this for a wile now, just do a google search and see were they are in your area off the woods.

Don't think you're being a nonsensical alarmist - just trying to help a guy out!

Interesting info on Wiki about film from this time period:

                https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cellulose_acetate_film

The entry certainly mentions the "vinegar" smell - but seems to point to that being a feature of "safety film" . . . something that was developed and being put to use, hopefully right about the time these films were made.

Of course, that's assuming the Germans who made this film, didn't grab a batch of old nitrate stuff instead . . .

                  John and Lou,

Since I am an American living in Germany. Ich spreche sehr klein Deutsch. I would hate to walk into a film studio and offend someone and receive a nasty fine. I would love to send them to the states but would rather be in person to talk to the people. I guess my only option is to sell them on Estand.

Next agenda will be to determine a reasonable price or trade for items.

                      DonC,
I thought of that exact scene.
