Cotton liner. Torn. Numbered cloth tag attached. No moth damage! "
To be fair the cap has been sold by Klaus B as restored cap.
The cap had character, the issue is someone ruined it with that "restoration" and replacment of button.

The issue would have been if the flatwire insignia had been original to the cap.
Now I would say it's just a case of personal taste.

this cap gone for an considerable amount so, to gain, the owner upgraded an officier cap and, this is a real shame, make the work into a nice original and used cap.
He works to fool using a machine to sewn the troops insignia thanks to the ripped lining. And, not happy by this... applied a lining in order to sell it at better price and hide (changed also button) him works.
A real sun of bitch.
i would happy to know who is the dealer... who dares to make this work. Cause picture is clearly from a dealer desk...
Emilio is still the better human-scanner of m43... i do not know if he had an incredible memory or an archive likes Heydrich.

This cap has been altered far too much IMO.
Sewing such a large replacement patch into the lining (including machine sewing all the way around the seam), changing the button and machine sewing the insignia was totally not necessary.
I respect the sewing skill involved but personally they made a mistake, those skills would have been far better utilised to sympathetically restore the cap rather than completely change it's nature. For example, I'm sure the tears in the lining could have been closed up with some well placed hand stitches. The insignia could also have been hand sewn as not to fool anyone and wtf was wrong with the original button?!
