      zinc Assmann original.
prongs not replaced but curious patina , in front of skull too.
die flaw in right bone inferior.
double edge in left up, in back view .
ges gesch in right proportions and location.
      thickness ok.
the little mark on the right suture not appreciated in the picture but sure that is there .
reveal that it is an authentic A SS mann skull.

            Not necessary ....
You could say that about the silver wash too ... Couldn't you ?
Personally for me that's an old solder
Not forgetting this has most likely been ground dug too so anything is possible
            Over-all a very nice piece
            Regards

                  Last but not least
IMO prongs are orginal and not reatached.
This skull is probably a dug.
Very often on Assman skull dugs( even very destroyed) pins are still attached and remaind in very good condition.
For me strange are saturae cranii on the right upper side (looking from front) and front ,,patina" or ,,silvering" but skull is still orginal Assmann.

Yes indeed much silvering for a grounddug. But you see clearly that silverwash is gone in the pits of oxidation.so I think the silverwash is original. Just a very early grounddug or bad conservation.

Often on zink ground finds, the silver plating, or maybe the golden is still in nice condition.
It is not only for skulls, eagles even for medaills awards and other stuff which is produced from the material Zink.
