Good eye Peter! On my monitor at home I couldn't even see the little casting pimples around the eye, etc. But I looked at it on my monitor at work after all of the debate here and it was much clearer. Of course if I knew it was silver marked, I would have dismissed it immediately. It's a decent fake from the front but the reverse tells all.

My original statement still stands though; there were a lot of subtle variations in the Deschler skulls throughout the 12 years.

No need to see the 800 stamp. One look at the reverse to see the different edge thickness shows clearly the skull is cast not stamped.

There is really no need to have seen the back side either. Those hidious crossed bone flaws and the incorrect nose should have been the dead giveaway at first glance. This is not a good fake, imo, because there are fakes out there that would lay this one to shame.
        Just my thoughts.

Thank you SgtB for the good word.
Sometimes is really hard to determine proof of orginality based only on pics and this way is it very easy to make mistakes.I also sometimes made mistakes but always I try make up a lesson from mistakes .In case of this skull I also did not see silver markings but many other things indicated that this skull is fake..
I totally agree witch you that it is possible to exist still many uknowns Deschlers variations. And thinking this way like someone wrote about mine skull,, that is not possible to exist tombak Deschker in this variant" as I posted is totally wrong. How did he know what they made during this years.
Of course here is this skull in different light condition.Notice also unusual pins shape exist only in those example .They are not simply flat pins.
PLS Do not to vomit(skull was posted many times)
          Peter
P.S Great experts are dont like?
          I dont care
          Just watch and learn.
For me is much better if you dear ,,experts " never saw this type of Deschler.
This way this skull is very rare(until now exist in one example) and your opinion is not important to me.
And now pls start using red marker..............

I disagree. Thickness regularly differs among stamped items and is not a sign of casting.

Thickness can vary amongst originals, but no original will ever be that thick.
Also, it should be noted that there are better castings that are exactly as thick as an original and weigh exactly the same as an original. When we get into the super fakes, it gets much more difficult than this one. I will post one of such fakes later on tonight. It is one that I bought on ebay
several years ago and it could not be identified by the low quality pictures that were provided.
I returned it for a refund, but I wish now that I had just kept it for show, as it was $300.00.
Such a fake would be worth $300.00, imo, but luckily I did take some good pictures.
              Until then...

Here is another. This one was very heavy, unlike the first one, but still awesome quality.

Yes, those are very convincing Chris. From these pics, there are things that I like and dislike. They both appear to be very shallow. Is that the case?

Peter - There are things that I like and dislike about your example too.

On all 3 of these examples, I don't really like the MM stampings. But these can differ quite a bit on originals over the years as well. And nobody has seen them all.

On internet images such as these, lighting, shading, and composition can really play tricks on my eyes, and nothing beats a hands-on inspection. I defer to your individual opinions.

how you knew they were false, for the weight?
there's really nothing that visually indicate they are fakes.

They are a bit difficult to tell by pictures, but I had both in my hands and I found several cast flaws in certain places. It's much easier in the flesh, to detect.
Yes, the RZM 52 was very heavy. The M1/52 was perfect weight, but has more visible flaws than the 52. Just look at the left side bones and you can see some in these pictures.

Last 2 skulls are totally insane...! It's scary.
For me, they are totally original! They've built up correct for their type.
