Not for me. Sloppy construction. I do not like the visor with green underside as well as the sweat band in black. Also the piping is not what I want to see. Just another detail is the officer chin cord on a NCO visor. Not correct.

Insignia in my opinion were reatached and this way not carrefully positioned.
Skull is a controversial Assman three prongs design.
I don't think this type of skull was used on officer cap .

P.S Orginality of cap is out of my knowledge

There's a good chance this is an original Flemish made SS cap.

Good points. The outside cover is too hairy than the band indeed and I do not understand the two front vertical seams. The peak & sweatband are very unusual, this latest showing a very roughly seem. I'm not a metal SS guy so I leave to the experts the evaluation about the badges. But I beg to differ on the piping, as I have seen many original period visors with this type of interwoven cotton/rayon pipings, that, while not common, has in my humble opinion a chance, in this specific case theoretically at least.

                    Hallo Ben

                    We posted almost simultaneously.

Please, spread this Flemish track because it is very interesting.

I'm interested personally because I own a much more modest Heer infantry visor with the same exact type of piping, which was discussed in an inconclusive way on the forum nine years ago. Since then many things have been examined more thoroughly and this type of piping has been, generally speaking, rehabilitated.

Hi Peter, these skulls are now accepted as original in the collecting community.

That being said in the period I don't believe 'they' cared which kind of skull they used as long as it had one. I firmly believe that the variances we love to discuss here today were of little if any significance or interest at all at the time.

                        Hi Marcello,

I've seen a few caps found in Belgium that exhibit the same details as this one.
The rayon piping and Luftwaffe style peak being the most obvious similarities.
The woollen fabrics are usually pretty shoddy as well.

This page is worth looking at:

                        Cheers
                        Ben

                          Hallo Ben

Your good intuition is worth of further consideration because actually there are many similarities and common traits between the visor here exposed and the last one of the first page of the blog you posted

Maybe also some flemish friend can help us.

                            Hi Jan.
I agree witch you about skull.
I wrote ,,controversial" but I know they are now not controversial
Some years ago I was sceptic about those type of skulls.
I change my opinion after a my friend founded same type of skull.
I posted this skull on warrelics forum two years ago(before I was banned) to legit this type of skulls.
                            Here is is this skull.
But about the choice of type of insignia I do not agree witch you at all.
I think they pay attention what they got on caps.
On the one of Seep Dietrich cap Hoheitabzeichen was in gold colour.
As others of his insignia that should be in silver.
P.s I was banned from warrelics forum because I recognice M1/24 Overhoff skull sa a fake. I still suport my opinion Mister Larry C. This skull was and is fake.
You asking me about my nickname and dont give me oportunity to give you a answer because first you banned me and later you are asking.
Here is your question: ,,No need to take offense....and call in the Calvaria...Calevaria...how do you spell Cavalry....maybe Calvaria was right the first time"
My answer is: you pay to much attention to your medals on avatar and is hard to you to memory my name .
It was Calvaria. Remember dude to rest of your life my name was Calvaria
                            O.K here is a skull
                            Peter

I agree, the cap looks Flemish. However, I find the stitching on the bottom of the sweatband interesting.
