IMO These are fakes, I think the other code for these fakes are 475/42. David

This is the first batch that were made in steel for some reason with a silver paint finish, nearly impossible to bend, I first set eyes on these in the early 80's in southern Germany at a show,I remember a German dealer who had a BIG box of these for sale, although the ones at the bottom of the box had rusted together and the box was water stained with mildew as if it had been on a wet floor for a long time, the zinc fakes came later and are more common.
                cheers,
                gary

                    HI

                    Thanks

These where sold to one of my friends for around 300euro.
The seller is one of the advansed SS collectoers here in denmark, so i am convinced that he sold these with bad intensions What an A.. ....

                        Jacob,
Initially most people thought they were good some still do, after all why go to the trouble of tooling up and making them out of steel and then giving them a cheap painted finish, the story was late war examples found in the East, so depending when they were sold the collector may have believed they were real.

                        cheers,
                        Gary

I've never been an 'advanced collector' BUT I do remember selling some insignias I now know to be bad to an 'advanced collector' who,in turn, thought he was shafting an amateur. Guess we we're as bad as each other.
