Hi Christian, I've seen photos of the Wallonien cufftitles being worn however whither they were Bevo or RZM I can't remember, but I'm sure some of the SS collectors will be able to confirm it for you.

That's great news Martin thanks, that's very positive, do you think it's safe to tell the owner they are original or should I wait for some more opinions?

Sorry to be late on this thread ... must've missed it somehow. Sadly everything except the 'Horst Wessel' ct is fake. Regarding UV (blacklight) my motto is If it glows it goes. Your friend has a classic assortment of fakes as seen in the UK between the late 60's and late 80's ... I'm certainly not on my own in also having had some similar 'pre-internet' level fakes

Who did he buy these things from ? Did he have a 'favourite' dealer or were they picked up all over the place ?

I can't comment on the trousers.

I have seen a photo of an RZM 'Wallonian' said at the time to be real. Sadly you friends' is a classic 6 strand fake from the 70's.

                      Hi Ian,
yes the items as far as I'm aware came from mostly the one source , what I would like to do is get confirmation the trousers are original, then I will tell the owner the last piece of good news. After that I will then have the task of informing him everything else is fake. Who is the best person on here for camo items? Personally I think the trousers are OK but in light of practically everything else being wrong I think it would be better to have another opinion on them.

Once the last item being the trousers are checked I will then contact the owner and give him a link to this thread , suggest he joins and then contacts the seller to see if something can be worked out. For obvious reasons I don't won't to get involved being the third party, but the owner may want to post further information if he joins.

Trousers use good material, but not sure on construction.

That sounds about right, many of us got taken regularly by a dealer we trusted.

Sadly quite a few of us have been in that position too .... quite often a mixed lot of a few cheap, throw-away real items but with the sting of many expensive items. I recently looked over an SS collection for Greg and there wasn't a single thing there that was good.

Maybe Owen Kamoman BUT you'll find a lot of people can spot '44 dot' pattern as it's extremely commonly found.

                          Cheers, Ian.

I agree with LSSAH1944 concerning the construction of the pants but non-regulation does not = fake or post war made

Cheers for your positive comments on the trousers guys , I will let the owner know, at least that's two original items. Thanks also for all your help with his collection , If I were to research each item myself it would have taken weeks so thank you for helping me fast track it's authenticity. Hopefully the owner of the items will be able to get some sort of recompense. I'll also suggest he joins the forum so he may also want to comment himself. Thanks again for your help, Kenny
