    What is this TURKISTAN sheild.. Printed on cloth.. Thanks BILL

    sorry i cannot help as printed FV items are not something i collect, although i always thought that original sleeve shield did not have the crescents on the dome tops, but that might be only valid for woven items, maybe some of the more experience FV collectors will chime in,

      Gary I had always thought the same about the cresents.. But even the wording above the cresents is different, and I know the stories don't mean anything, but it came from a vet. with a 98k & capture papers and a cammo Austrian M16 double decal Army transitional helmet with m31 liner.. Thanks BILL

        First pattern had Biz ALLA Bilen., no cresent moons..

        2nd pattern looks like the one shown here. Is it original? Hard to tell with the printed types. I guess as long as it does not glow and not a synthetic anything goes.. , G.

          Gaspare has perfectly summed it up.This shield is of the correct design and construction,whether original ? Who can tell ? I personally dislike printed shields for this reason (although I still have a printed 'Georgien' myself).
