            IMHO the type that started this topic is the "improved generation" of this fake.

            It's a typical beginner's mistake to think that all rune tabs with stitching on the back are automatically original "Dachau-made".

            First mistake: it's not proven that they were made in Dachau... ("Found" doesn't necessarily equals "made"...)
            Most of the original Dachau-found embroidered rune tabs didn't have stitching on the back.

              Hi,

              Dachau was mainly a stock in which many items produced by the SS over the Reich were stocked.
              So yes, "found in Dachau" doesn't mean "made in Dachau".
              All depends of the manufacturer.

              See You

                Then please tell me why it's fake...
                Based on what?

                Imo, all the used materials look okay to me.
                Wool, tread and buckram...

                Not the first time that good items gets burned here...

                  - Shape of the runes;
                  - Thickness of the runes (width);
                  - Rather loose embroidery of the runes;
                  - Typical borderline around the runes
                  But most of all:
                  - Not a known variation of a rune tab. Up to 10 years ago, this type was never encountered;
                  - Not a match with known and confirmed late-war tabs that have been encountered in Vet bring back lots.

                  Kind regards,
                  Gerd V

                      Personally ...
                      This is NOT a good item and therefore its as you say getting burned
                      Its doesn't compare to any known original as already stated these have only crept onto the market over the past 10 years or so.
                      Regards David

                        this morning i was surprised about this tab passed, also for me it's not good for reasons explained by Gerd. unfortunately must kwon this tab.. otherwise is really difficult to spot. imho this tab was made by same hand which makes the VVVVVV perfect borders tab... an early SS rune tab and this late offered to the market.

                          Thanks y'all for letting this know. I certainly was not aware of it so I learned something new here.
                          I'll take it off the estand where it's for sale.
                          Cheers.

                              Thanks David.
                              But I don't know anymore where I got it from.
                              It's a while since I bought it...
