Finnish Waffen SS ?

I lived in Lakeworth, Fl for over 20 years. Lakeworth has a large Finnish population and I've obtained good German items in the past that came from Lakeworth Finns.

I bought this at a house clearance sale conducted by the daughter of the decedent who said it was the only thing he had from his military career. She said he served from 1939 until 1945 and had fought with the Germans.

I've wanted opinions since I first got it but its been packed away for the past 10 years.

What do you think.

Thanks, knowing little about this insignia it helps to know. I've seen the crowned Lion on at least one of their medals. Is it a National emblem?
