SS oak camo parkas from Norway

    Additional views of the H-H parka.

      There where apparently some quantity of this Camo material left as the Norwegian defense made a kind of Dennison smock (Linderud camp?) and even big lavo tent was made post ww2. A collector I knew had also a big piece from a roll of this oak Camo. He was national guard chief on Fornebu after the war and he told they had a meter of ss helmet covers on the depot. Back in the day I saw the one he kept. It was a typical 2model oak/plaintree. It is my opinion that this is the type helmetcover most found in Norway. Pictures show the covers and smock in use in national guard in the 50/60`s.

        Indeed! They made all kinds of things with the left over material in Norway...Pretty cool Model A Ford seat covers!

          I knew him quite well, sadly he passed a few years ago. I have a good piece of the camo roll from Linderud. To the "Denison" smock made prototypes made shortly after the war, Im aware of only 2 in the "National defense museums" depot + the one I have.

                  Yes, quite cool seatcovers I'm aware of the bag you linked to, there was also made other small bags, for shoepolish and brush, etc from the same cloth by the Norwegian army. Don't have any pics, but have seen them..

                      Has anyone done a comparison of the Norwegian parka and one made from Itailan cloth? I have only seen pictures of the Itailan cloth parka, but the Norwegian one seems quite similar in cut... Just a thought, I know the Itailan cloth parka was worn not exclusively by wss, but I think the timeline of when the Itailan cloth parka is quite close to when the Norwegian sewn parka was made... Might they both have been made at the same time, from a directive we don't know about?
