SS M43 Gabardine cap, trapezoid insignia

If the insignia restored- the hat must be fully disassembled, due the insignia placed during the construction of two sides. I guess insignia seam is going under the main stitching of the top part of that. I don't say about the whole liner reassembly.
Very nice original with BeVo Wuppetal trap, they are mostly attached in this way ( unfolded top), due this type of trap is narrow then other

the stitching is the same as the entire cap so rules even that out

i was just looking its not tipical zig zag stiching and the thread looks a bit different than the one above on the cap itself
if you guys say its originally attached, wow ive got much to learn

zig -zag stitchings on a Italian Gabardine hats seen 50-50 on the edge of the hat, due it's floppy structure, heavy used examples became very "hairy" without it. The difference in the thread is normal, due the hat made in mass production, and 4-5 persons makes different operations in different machines. Due of that thread can be different

Hi Harry, my apologies for my earlier comment, I thought you were some kind of 'Troll', or being maliciously negative (something that does occasionally happen on WAF...). Although some manufacturers did zig-zag apply trapezoid insignia, straight line stitching is actually very typical. All part of the process of speeding up manufacturing and making efficiencies in the late-war period.

Im always suspicious about thread and not same of sewing to the cloth - that is what normally gives away if insignia is attached by the same time when the cloth were created
