I don't believe this bird is a correctly constructed example for the following reasons:

If we assume it is an RZM pattern............
There is no separation between the body and head.
There is no tinseled highlights on the wreath.
The swastika is made from the wrong bullion (should be tinseled)
The seventh feather on the lower wing is not separated from the body.
The legs are too bowed out from the body.
The separation threads should all be black.

If we assume it is an earlier second pattern without the head separation......
The wing structure of the first level of feathers are not supposed to be divided, as only the lower feathers are separated with thread.
The swastika is made from the wrong bullion (should be tinseled) and no black threads should be on the wreath, unless this were a first pattern eagle.
The seventh feather on the lowered wing is not separated from the body.
The legs are not angled correctly from the body to the wreath.

This example has characteristics of three different types of SS eagles and not the chacteristics of the commonly seen first, second, or RZM patterns.
Is it real? I guess it could be a transition type of eagle, but it's more likely a bad attempt by some tailor, made post war IMO. Since it shows wear, it could have been a movie eagle or a possible reenactment item.

I would not want it in my collection.
