Shoulder board cypher help

Question: Is this a cypher that would have been worn on a shoulder board for the Nordland Regiment? Or was this device never used?

Hi, Yes it is a Nordland cypher...looks just like the ones in my collection. Also IMO , I believe them to be period original yet I have not seen any photos of them in wear.
