Guys, I really appreciate the support and kind words. It is true, that I still need to obtain a couple of skull examples before I can finish the book, but those are not all that rare and as for the rest of the minor examples that I am missing, I will simply describe those in words, so that everything will at least be mentioned in the book.

Anyway, I hope that it doesn't take me too long to finish the book and that everyone will find it satisfying and helpful. It is a lot of work.

Which examples are you missing?
Can you catalog them?
Someone on here may have the pictures that you need or may be wiling to lend examples to you to take pictures yourself.

I can imagine what your going thru Chris.. I've been working on my project for a little over 15 years! Besides not being a writer by trade,,,**** does happen!

I've been talked out of doing it a couple times by the guys saying 'Your just making it easier for the counterfeiters, don't do it' [that wasted 2 years!]
Then the personal and natural disasters!,,I've lost my home 2 times in 7 years due to severe flooding! There is work, the family , health issues,etc etc. Yes, **** does happen!.

There is also the 'Forum effect' ,,that is the tiniest of mistakes and the forum guys will cut you up in ribbons. God forbid a fake makes it in to what your explaining as authentic!! my Lord they will hunt you down and kill you
It's just how it is and we all do it.
Chris,,take your time,,don't let anyone rush you. Check and go over your research 10 times if you have to.. IF something is 'iffy' leave it out,,remember,,one little mistake and these guys will crucify you!
Good things come to those who have patience. [After all these years I've finally decided to finish my project. Secured a publisher and by the end of July mine will be in the publishers hands].

Take your time finding and making an agreement with the publisher. You want color, glossy pages, soft cover, hard cover or what ever it is, make sure you get your vision of what you want! Good luck buddy we're all looking forward to it!

I wouldn't waste the time, money and energy making a real book. I bought a few when I started collecting and I never look at them because they were probably obsolete by the time of printing.

I would make an editable .pdf

If you sell someone a copy , and the info changes , you can always update and email that updated copy to your customers.

I would welcome anything you care to dish out as a lot of info in this hobby seems secretive by those " in the know "

As to helping the fakers......the better fakes on the front side look plausible, but usually have RZM numbers on the back that are fantasy or SS runes . It's almost imo that the makers of these better fakes did not intend to deceive , but subsequent owners are trying to pass them off.

The cast fakes of originals seem to lack quality that is pretty easy to spot if you invest some time in the hobby.

It definitely takes time but even my 3 months in the hobby , it is getting much easier. I would love to download in my head what Chris and others already know.

I will definitely want a copy or your book. I just know it will be amazing. Take your time and do it right.

I have a feeling that I will see at least one of my old skulls in the book.

Sorry that it took me so long to reply here. I just now get the chance to say something, as I have had family stuff going on all day. Gaspare hit the nail on the head with most of his explanations, however, none should worry about any fakes sneaking into my book. It will be the first of it's kind and will include only the variations that we know are absolutely real, 100%. Also, I will share every secret and all bits of knowledge that I have ever discovered over the years of my research, (including many things that I have never mentioned or shown here before).

As for the variations that I still need, I think that I now have all that I will need to finish the project,
(The ones I lack are just minor variations that I can explain the differences in words, along with the ones I do have). Tomorrow, I am going to visit my friend who first got me started collecting SS around 15 years ago. Maybe I will aquire some great new items there. Until then, be patient, it will be worth the wait.
