Hello, Any comments on this cap would be greatly appreciated. I'm sold that it's a good one but the seller showed me an SS Officer cap that had been messed with, so it raised a red flag.

It s easy to put a skull on it and call it SS. Who knows? Impossible to prove.
If you want a bonafide SS contract "pelzmutze", as a reference this is what mine looks like!
Note liner material and also only a size stamp appears, no RBNr, no maker's info...

That skull insignia is an old fake for sure ( RZM 41 ) ..
