I concur with this post. If anyone wants to view unissued view examples, look in the archives of Mike Davis' website and Vol 3 of Scott Pritchett's Wrap series.

So only some info I can pass on for others : I distinctly remember that they both had factory applied sleeve eagles AND also the SS runes , but most importantly , there were

NO RANK patches yet .. !

Already at the time ( I was so much younger then ) I realized the importance = this is how they had left the factory .. !
If only I could have seized one , for evidence , or at least have kept a picture . Remember that 25 years ago , you didn't have a camera with you at all times .
I realize now that it may mean that other Panzer units like Totenkopf or Prinz Eugen may have had to order their " Sonderbekleidung " without the Rune tabs , but I certainly know what I saw that day =
2 Factory fresh mint unissued SS wraps , unpiped , both having factory applied eagle AND SS runes .

I have nothing to gain from sharing this , but I hope the info will be picked up for the future , by those who are serious about collecting these , and can still actually afford them ..

In some books written by veterans they said about hand sewn insignia also after washing. Personal of an hotel laundry confirmed to me she received tunics without insignia to wash and often make the service to resewn.
I also talked about this with a LSSAH pnz veteran who confirmed to me this method of washi also at btg laundry. Of course some graduates or soldier could have the fortune of a quick machine sewing but the greateat part sewn with propwr hands. As all soldier know, and also myself when i was military.
So style of stitching for me is a no sense. Moreover with used items.
Why talk about that when someone posted a pnz wrap which 99% of collectors could not have.... It's really embarrassing.

Edit: sorry mate I was making a research of pnz and stug wraps. Pics opened and pages opened and saved. I confused the wrap pages. Consideration about sewn machine and hand remains.
      Sorry.

I met this guy at that time being (1990 or so) on a militaria fair in Antwerp.
He offered me both wrappers, since I only took one of them, he told me he would keep the second (identical one) for himself. I never met the guy again, nor did I ever track the other wrap ...

As a matter of fact, at that time, the discovery of the wraps was hot news, I still remember the commotion when the deal ended up in hard cash...
(note that original untouched wraps were rarely seen on shows in these days -let alone SS...)
