As Gary stated these showed up in the 80's.

SOME OF THIS SS INSIGNIA DID TURN UP IN THE 1980"s AND CAME FROM AUSTRIA. I REMEMBER LARGE AMOUNTS OF CAP INSIGNIA, COMBAT BADGES AND OTHER AWARDS TURNING UP INCLUDING IRON CROSSES AND AND BARS. I ALSO REMEMBER SOME CLOTH INSIGNIA THAT WAS BEING OFFERED AT THE SAME TIME.

I HAVE ALIST OF SOME OF THE MAKERS MARKS AND NUMBERS IN ONE OF MY PAPERWORK BOXES THAT COULD BE A HELP TO NEW COLLECTORS AND ALSO HELP KICK START A FEW OF THE OTHER OLDER COLLECTORS MEMORIES. I WAS STUNG VERY HARD BEFORE FINDING FROM A DEALER IN ENGLAND ABOUT THESE ITEMS HITING THE MARKET.

WE ARE ALL WISER TO THE FACT NOW THAT GOOD QUALITY DOES NOT MAKE IT ORIGINAL.
