Hi Erik, there is one on Hanners Reich but now looking closely it resembles the same vertical damage rather than wear. I am now leaning towards it being suspect as the others you have shown have the same vertical cuts/damage.
Once the seed is planted then it is hard as I tend to only stick to textbook or unquestionable as moving them on will always be difficult. This is why I normally stick to FJ cutoffs which are a lot more difficult to put together.
Thanks for the input and the examples that have been shown.
Its funny because I had three offers to buy it after posting the thread.
Its a strange one because it certainly wasn't sold at a premium that cut offs week to command.
I will speak to the dealer to see if there is anything further about it.
Thanks - Greg
I know the price was very interesting but that also made me wonder. If it was a one looker original the asking price could have been double. I am not surprised by the interest and the offers you got. After all, a real piece like that would be a killer item and it got good feedback initially.
I hope all works out with the dealer if you might deceide not to take the item after all. If so, it is bound to turn op somewhere else sooner or later.
Hi guys, I have cancelled the deal and the dealer was very helpful.
Thanks for the feedback and help, I will stick to FJ cut offs in the future
Best - Greg
Withdrawing this lot really is the correct step to take.
You cannot be careful enough not to get your auction "infected" with casual frauds. I write fraud and not fake because the title itself is good but not the cut-off.
Your reputation of being serious about originality and your integrity will only benefit from your action of withdrawing the lot.
We can only wish and hope that other auction houses would do the same...!
