I dont like these boards. The silver litze is not correct. Seems to be "Rauten" not "Karo".
The piping donĀ“t look like Rayonpiping on these fotos for me.
I hope.
Wehrmacht used litzen with "karo" (first foto)
NVA used litzen with "Rauten". This litzen were often used to fake Wehrmachtsboards. (second foto; i hope i find one)

I'm sorry I still don't see what your talking about ???
I have noticed you have high-lighted the button hole ?
Is that a problem ?
ok, look at this foto.
I have drawn a Karo up und a Raute down under the Karo. The boards in the foto have silverlitzen with Karo as your boards. My Inf-boards have Karo on their litzen.
I never really looked at the litzen not that it would have made any difference, because I wouldn't have known the difference between that used during the war and after.
I'm starting to see now
Cheers
Dave
Thanks for that Chris ....
I think its started to sink in .....
This is a shot of the boards that first started the post

There ... So are you saying the tress has been added or are the boards fake too ?
Hard to say without holding them in hand. The basic boards certainly have a chance. I like what appears to be "boiled wool"/ ersatz felt on the reverse side. The button holes on the tongue are a bit weird in shape and not quite key-hole which could be the result of cottage industry manufacture/ finishing off.
I have seen that green piping colour and full tongue board brought back from encounters with 7 "SS-Freiwilligen-Gebirgs-Division Prinz Eugen" in Italy 44-45,
